The Research Training Program (RTP) is a scholarship scheme funded by the Australian Government to support research students at Australian universities.

The Deakin University Postgraduate Research Scholarship (DUPR) is funded by Deakin University itself.

Both scholarships aim to help graduate researchers focus on their work by covering living costs and tuition fees. Only top-ranked candidates will be offered RTP Scholarships, while both scholarships follow a rigorous, merit-based selection process.

Eligibility

To apply for the RTP or DUPR Scholarship at Deakin University , applicants must:

Be a domestic or international student enrolled (or enrolling) in a research degree at Deakin.
Not be receiving other income that exceeds 75% of the stipend.
Meet minimum entry requirements for Higher Degrees by Research (HDR) at Deakin.
Have completed at least 4 years of tertiary education.
Have achieved a minimum 80% or equivalent in their previous research component.
Additional achievements such as research publications, work experience, and academic excellence are also considered during selection.

Degree Level

Australia Deakin University RTP & DUPR Scholarships 2026 (Fully Funded) is available to undertake Masters, PhD level programs at Deakin University.

Duration Of The Scholarship

PhD programs : 3 years (stipend), 4 years (tuition fee offset)
Master’s by research : 2 years (stipend and tuition fee offset)

Benefits

These scholarships offer generous support for research students:

Stipend of $35,550 per annum (tax-exempt) for 2025

Relocation allowance :

$500 for singles
$1,500 for families (moving from interstate or overseas)
Single Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for international students

Tuition fee offset :

Up to 4 years for PhD students
Up to 2 years for Master’s students

Eligible Nationalities

Open to domestic and international students of all nationalities.
