Eligibility

To be considered for the Master Mind Scholarship, applicants must:

Apply for an eligible Master’s program at a Flemish higher education institution
Have an excellent academic record
Meet the academic and language requirements of the chosen program
Be nominated by the host institution
Not combine the scholarship with: Another Flemish Government scholarship Erasmus+ or Erasmus Mundus BAEF Scholarship Fulbright Scholarship

Tuition Fee For Scholarship Holders

Host institutions may charge a reduced tuition fee equal to the lowest rate for local grant-holding students:

€136.50 for the 2026–2027 academic year (This amount may increase slightly each year.)

A limited number of scholarships are reserved for priority countries: Japan: 3 scholarships Mexico: 3 scholarships Palestine: 2 scholarships United States: 5 scholarships

If a reserved scholarship is declined, it will first be offered to the next highest-ranking applicant from the same country.

Application Procedure

The Master Mind Scholarship application is institution-based. Students cannot apply directly to the Flemish Government.

Step 1 Apply To A Flemish University

Apply for admission to an eligible Master’s program in Flanders or Brussels.

Step 2 Request Scholarship Nomination

Indicate your interest in the Master Mind Scholarship during or after your program application, following the host institution’s instructions.

Step 3 Institutional Selection

The host institution selects and nominates candidates to the Flemish Selection Committee.

Step 4 Final Decision

The Flemish Selection Committee ranks applicants and awards the scholarships.

Payment of the Scholarship

Payment Of The Scholarship

The €10,225 grant is paid by the host institution
If a student loses or declines the scholarship, they must pay the full tuition fee to continue the program
Cancelled scholarships are reassigned to the next highest-ranked candidate

Important Conditions

Scholarships cannot be combined with other major international or Flemish scholarships
If a selected student withdraws, the scholarship is reallocated
Reserved country quotas are respected before moving to the general ranking list
