Boise State’s automatic nonresident scholarships include: Ridgeline Scholarship Summit Scholarship Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) WUE Nursing Transfer versions of each award These scholarships are awarded based on GPA, residency, major selection, and enrollment status. Priority Deadlines Spring Priority Deadline: October 1 Fall Priority Deadline: December 15 All admission documents must be submitted by these dates to be considered.

Eligible Nationalities
To qualify for WUE or other nonresident scholarships, students must be:
U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents
Nonresidents of Idaho
Permanent residence must be in one of these WUE-participating states/territories:
Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Northern Marianas Islands, American Samoa, Marshall Islands, Micronesia.

The Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Award is one of Boise State’s highest-value automatic scholarships.

Eligibility Requirements
U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Permanent resident of a WUE-eligible state
Minimum 3.5 GPA (high school or college, depending on entry type)
Must maintain a 3.0 GPA for renewal
Must be admitted as degree-seeking and full-time (12+ credits)
Must select an eligible major
Application Procedure
Boise State automatic scholarships do not require a separate application. Students are automatically considered by completing these steps:
Step 1 – Apply for Admission
Submit the Boise State undergraduate application.
Pay the application fee or request a waiver.
Step 2 – Submit All Required Documents
Official transcripts
Test scores (if applicable)
Residency documentation (if requested)
Documents must be received before the priority deadline.
Step 3 – Select an Eligible Major
Major choice affects eligibility, especially for WUE and transfer scholarships.
Step 4 – Receive Scholarship Notification
Scholarship decisions appear in the admission letter.
They become visible in the Student Center approximately 3 weeks after admission.
Step 5 – Enroll Full-Time
All scholarships require 12 or more credits each semester.

Do I need a separate application for Boise State’s nonresident scholarships? No. All nonresident undergraduate students are automatically considered when they submit required admission documents before the priority deadline.
What GPA is needed for the Boise State WUE Award? A minimum 3.5 cumulative unweighted GPA is required for first-year students. Transfer applicants must meet the same GPA requirement.
Are nursing majors eligible for the Ridgeline or Summit transfer scholarships? No. Nursing, Pre-Nursing, Radiological Science, and fully online programs are not eligible for Ridgeline, Summit, or WUE Transfer scholarships.
