This prestigious UK research fellowship is aimed at early-career scholars from across the globe, helping them advance their academic careers while working with leading researchers in the UK.

Eligibility

Hold a PhD (or be in the final stages, with completion before the fellowship starts). Have no more than seven years of postdoctoral experience. Be living and working outside the UK for at least 12 months before applying. Not hold UK citizenship . Be proficient in English (oral and written). Have a defined and mutually beneficial research proposal approved by a UK host researcher .

Benefits

Full funding for three years at 80% of Full Economic Cost (FEC). Research expenses up to £12,000. Relocation costs up to £8,000. Salary as a UK-based employee (instead of a visiting stipend). Follow-on alumni funding for continued networking and research collaborations.

Eligible Nationalities

This scholarship is open to international students of all nationalities.

Application Procedure

February 10, 2025: Obtain Head of Department (HoD) approval and discuss your potential application.
February 10, 2025 (4 PM, Final Deadline): Submit an intention to apply email to the Research Strategy & Development Team.
February 13, 2025: King’s College London confirms institutional support.
February 14, 2025: Final selection decisions communicated to applicants.
February 21, 2025: Submit draft application for review.
March 11, 2025: King’s internal submission deadline.
March 18, 2025 (5:00 PM GMT): Final external submission deadline to the British Academy.
Confirm Eligibility & Secure HoD Support: Ensure you meet all eligibility criteria and obtain written approval from your Head of Department.
Submit Intention to Apply: Email your intent to apply along with your CV, research proposal, personal statement, and confirmation from your HoD.
Develop the Full Application: Work with Research Development Managers (RDMs) to refine your proposal and justify funding requirements.
Institutional Review & Submission: King’s College London will review, approve, and submit applications to the British Academy.
