Eligibility

Be a British or Commonwealth citizen

Hold a PhD awarded by a UK university

Be an established scholar at a UK university, regardless of nationality

Additional requirements:

Be based in Rome for the fellowship period

Hold at least a first degree at the time of application

Fellows gain exclusive access to one of the most significant English-language research libraries in Rome, with over 120,000 volumes. Key subject areas include:

Archaeology

Art and architectural history

Classical studies

Italian history and culture

The Archive features rich photographic and documentary resources, including the renowned Ward-Perkins and Ashby collections, offering valuable insight into international scholarship in Italy from the late 19th century onwards.
