BUTEX Sustainability Abroad Scholarships 2024 in the UK is available to undertake level programs at UK Universities.
Eligibility
This scholarship is open to undergraduate students like yourself, but there are a few things to consider: Who can apply? You must be an undergraduate student enrolled at a BUTEX member university . Not sure if your university is a member? Check the list they provide! You can be either an incoming or outgoing student on a study abroad program. Your study abroad/exchange program, work/internship/traineeship, or summer school program must have taken place (or be taking place) during the same calendar year you apply for the scholarship. Study abroad programs must be for one semester or one year. Work/internship/traineeship placements can be of any length, but must be overseas. You must be currently enrolled in your undergraduate program when you apply and receive the scholarship (graduated students are not eligible).

Benefits
The value of each scholarship is £500. This will be paid to the winners once they have arrived and registered at their host university, or confirmation of a placement already completed has been received. BUTEX will also make a special award in honour of our late Treasurer, the Tony Emmerson Award. This scholarship will be awarded in the event of an American Studies student being successful in the competition. This award will also be for £500.

Application Procedure
This scholarship opportunity is for placements happening in 2024 only. To apply, you'll need to answer the following question and choose how you want to present your answer: Question: Travel & Sustainability: Share your thoughts on how travel can be sustainable. Eco-Friendly Actions: Describe the steps you plan to take (or have already taken) to make your study abroad experience environmentally friendly. UN Sustainability Goals (SDGs): Explain how your actions align with specific UN SDGs. Clean Environment Contribution: Highlight how your efforts contribute to a cleaner environment. Choose Your Answer Format: Creative Piece: Write a story, poem, interview, or another creative format. Poster Design: Design a visually appealing poster conveying your message. YouTube Vlog: Create a video blog discussing your thoughts and actions. Select the option that best allows you to showcase your passion for sustainable travel! Application Deadline: July 10th, 2024 Tips: Focus on solutions and inspire others to travel sustainably. Research relevant UN SDGs related to travel and the environment. Craft a compelling introduction (for all formats) to grab attention. Ensure your chosen format aligns with your strengths (writing, design, video).
