You lived in one of the UK’s most deprived areas (based on IMD postcode rankings)
You received a maintenance grant or means-tested loan during undergraduate study
You were the first in your family to attend university
You were estranged from your family
You were a single parent or lone guardian while studying
Your education was disrupted due to health issues or bereavement

Application Procedure

There is no separate application form for these studentships. Instead:

Apply for your intended Master’s course through the University of Cambridge Postgraduate Application Portal
Submit your application by the funding deadline for your course (check the Postgraduate Course Directory)
During your application, you must answer specific questions that determine your eligibility for these scholarships
Note: Studentships are only available to applicants who meet the funding deadline—late applications will not be considered.
