Eligibility

Research Location
The research must be conducted in Finland .
Applications from international researchers are accepted only if the research is affiliated with a Finnish institution .
Applicant Type
Individual researchers , research teams , and PhD candidates are eligible to apply.
Both early-career and established researchers may submit proposals.
Grant Categories
Major Grants (€450,000 for 3 years): Open to leading cancer researchers and teams proposing impactful, broad-scope cancer research.
Research Grants (1–3 years): For specific research projects in any area of cancer research.
Dissertation Grants (€4,000 one-time): For PhD students working on cancer-related doctoral research.
Research Focus
The project must have scientific relevance to cancer research and demonstrate strong methodological quality and feasibility .
Conflict of Interest
Researchers or teams receiving funding from the tobacco or nicotine industry are not eligible to apply.
This includes direct or indirect affiliations with companies profiting from the production or marketing of tobacco/nicotine products.
