Eligibility
To qualify for the 2025 Central South University Silk Road Scholarship:
Nationality: Non-Chinese citizens.
Education: Excellent academic record.
Health: Good physical and mental health, no criminal record.
Age limit: Under 35 (Master's), under 40 (PhD).
Language proficiency:
Chinese-taught: HSK Level 4 (minimum 180; 260 preferred).
English-taught: IELTS ≥ 6 or TOEFL ≥ 85.
Exemptions available for native speakers or graduates of Chinese/English-taught programs.
Must not hold any other scholarship.
Research excellence and innovative potential.

What Does The Silk Road Scholarship Cover
This fully funded CSC scholarship includes:
Full tuition fee waiver
On-campus accommodation
Medical insurance
Monthly living stipend (CNY 3,000 for Master’s / CNY 3,500 for PhD)
Eligible Nationalities
Applicants from the following countries are welcome:
Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Yemen, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Morocco, Zambia.

Step 1 Apply To Csu Online System
Register at CSU International Student Portal .
Select Chinese Government Scholarship .
Step 2 Apply To Csc Online System
Visit CSC Online Application .
Select Type B and use Agency Number: 10533 .

Passport copy
Degree certificates and transcripts
Language proficiency certificates
Study proposal (min. 1,000 words)
Acceptance letter from a CSU professor
Physical examination form
Non-criminal record certificate
Two recommendation letters
1-minute personal statement video
Declaration of no other funding
Additional supporting documents (CV, research, awards)
Note: All documents must be clear, authentic, and preferably scanned professionally.
Step 3 Pay The Application Fee
CNY 500 (payable after passing initial review)
Step 4 Academic And Final Review
CSU evaluates your academic background and research potential.
Final results will be communicated via CSC and CSU online systems.
Step 5 Admission And Visa
Admission letters and visa forms will be issued by July 31, 2025.
Registration begins September 2025.
Application Deadline
Apply between now and May 20, 2025.
