Eligibility
To qualify for the Mo Ibrahim Academy Fellowship, applicants must: Be citizens of any African country (dual nationality accepted). Hold a Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent. Have experience conducting independent research. Work in fields such as academia, NGOs, business, government, civil society, or media. Demonstrate leadership experience or potential. Possess strong knowledge of international affairs and Chatham House’s mission. Have proficiency in spoken English.

Financial Support Monthly stipend of £2,565 for living expenses in London. Full coverage of relocation costs, including travel, accommodation support, and visa fees. Research expenses for fieldwork, outreach, events, and publications. Professional Development Independent research project: Fellows design and execute their own research under Chatham House guidance. Research project proposal (following topic guidance)
Stage 1: Applications reviewed by a selection committee.
Stage 2: Shortlisted candidates interviewed via Zoom.
Final Selection: Successful applicants notified via email.
