China Scholarship Council (CSC) University of Sussex UK Scholarships 2025 (Fully Funded) is available to undertake level programs at University of Sussex.
Eligibility
To apply for the CSC–University of Sussex Scholarship 2025, candidates must meet the following requirements: CSC Eligibility Requirements: Must satisfy the eligibility conditions outlined by the China Scholarship Council. Commencement of Studies: Start academic studies at Sussex in September 2025 or January 2026. Nationality and Residence Status: Must be a citizen of the People's Republic of China, either permanently living in China or currently studying overseas. Applicants working overseas are ineligible. International Fee-Paying Status: Must be classified as an international Chinese student for tuition purposes. English Language Proficiency: Applicants must meet the English language requirements of the University of Sussex, particularly for Arts and Humanities. Candidates with a conditional PhD offer that depends only on undergraduate or master’s results can apply, but those with conditions related to English proficiency are not eligible. Academic Requirements: For Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences: Must hold (or expect to hold by September 2025/January 2026) a UK equivalent first-class honours degree and a master’s degree. For Science and Engineering: A first-class honours degree and preferably a relevant postgraduate qualification such as a master’s degree are required. Who Can Apply? First-year Chinese PhD students currently enrolled at Sussex are eligible. 1+3 PhD students (those completing their master’s year) can also apply. Visiting PhD students can apply for up to 12 months of research at Sussex.

What the Scholarship Covers Full Tuition Fees / Bench Fees: Covered by the University of Sussex Living Allowance: Provided by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) Sponsors and Scholarship Requirements To receive funding, applicants must secure both: PhD Admission Offer from the University of Sussex CSC Scholarship Funding Upon completion of their studies, all scholarship recipients are required to return to China to contribute to national development.

Application Procedure
To apply for the CSC–Sussex Scholarship, candidates must complete the following steps:
Submit a Sussex PhD Application: Visit the University of Sussex’s PhD application portal and submit your application.
Register Interest in CSC Scholarship: Complete the CSC Scholarship register of interest form available on the University’s website.
Secure CSC Funding: After receiving an offer from Sussex, apply to the China Scholarship Council portal when it opens in March 2025.
Key Dates and Deadlines Application Deadline: 10 February 2025 (12:00 UK time) Both the Sussex PhD application form and CSC Scholarship register of interest form must be submitted by this date. Outcome Notification: Applicants will be informed of the results in late February/early March 2025. CSC Application Portal Opens: March 2025 CSC Outcome Announcement: Mid-May 2025 Note: Applications submitted after 10 February 2025 may not receive timely consideration before the CSC competition opens.
