Eligibility

The WEC Faculty Fellowship is open to full-time CSU faculty members—tenured, tenure-track, or on continuing non-tenurable appointments—during the 2025–2026 academic year. Preference will be given to those who:

Participated in TILT’s June 2025 Community of Practice on Writing for Engaged Learning
Have not previously served as WAC Fellows
Note: Graduate students cannot apply as primary fellows but may collaborate with faculty in curriculum design.6

Benefits

The WEC Faculty Fellowship is part of CSU’s broader commitment to promoting writing across the curriculum. The program will select four faculty fellows to receive:

$1500 stipend (disbursed in May 2026 upon completion of final report)
20 hours of one-on-one mentorship with writing experts from CSU's WAC and Composition programs
Ongoing support in writing-specific curriculum design
Opportunities to present at CSU's Summer Conference 2026
Access to participate in TILT’s Course Redesign Institute in January 2026

With writing increasingly recognized as a powerful tool for learning across disciplines, this fellowship gives faculty the structure and support to:

Design or redesign major and minor writing assignments
Align writing tasks with course learning outcomes
Build assessment plans to measure impact
Support CSU’s land-grant mission of access and excellence
Faculty are encouraged to design writing activities that directly contribute to student learning, critical thinking, and academic persistence.

Eligible Nationalities

This fellowship is open to applicants of all nationalities who are enrolled in Full-time CSU faculty.

Important Deadlines

Call for Proposals Opens: June 24, 2025
Proposal Submission Deadline: August 1, 2025 (11:59 PM)
Award Notification: August 15, 2025
Mentorship and Consultation Period: August 15, 2025 – Spring 2026
Project Implementation Begins: Fall 2025 semester
Course Redesign Institute (Optional Participation): January 2026 (Exact date TBD)
Final Project Report Due: May 15, 2026
$1500 Stipend Disbursed: May 2026 (Upon report submission)
Presentation at TILT Summer Conference: Tentatively May 20–21, 2026

Project timeline (Aug 2025 – May 2026)
Types of support or mentorship you seek
Syllabus and course calendar attached
