You're eligible if you: Are a great researcher with a completed PhD (or near completion). Don't mind where you are from or where you live now (but there are some rules about where you can go on your research stay). Haven't lived or worked in your chosen research location in Germany for more than a year in the past 3 years. Can find both a German university to hire you and a research institution abroad to host your research. (The German university must be a real university, not some other kind of place.) Get written confirmation from the German university that they'll employ you for the whole fellowship. Basically, be a brilliant researcher who's ready to work in Germany and find your own research placement abroad.
