Eligibility
To be eligible for the EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
PhD or Equivalent : Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent at the start of the fellowship. Those with a PhD earned within the two years prior to application are eligible.
First Author Publication : Applicants must have at least one first-author publication in an international peer-reviewed journal at the time of application. This demonstrates the candidate's independent research contributions.
Mobility Requirement : All applicants must demonstrate movement between countries. Applications for fellowships in the country where the PhD was obtained will not be considered.
No Continuation of PhD Work : Projects that directly continue from the applicant's PhD work are not eligible. This ensures that the fellowship supports the development of new, independent research directions.
Application Submission : Applications can only be submitted through the online application system . Complete applications are accepted year-round, with deadlines for evaluation rounds in Spring and Autumn .
