Eligibility
To apply for FAFU’s master’s or PhD programs, applicants must meet the following requirements: Nationality: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport. Age Limit: Master’s programs: Applicants must be under 35 years old (born after April 30, 1990). PhD programs: Applicants must be under 40 years old (born after April 30, 1985). Academic Qualifications: Master’s applicants: Must hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. PhD applicants: Must hold a master’s degree or its equivalent. Language Proficiency: Chinese-taught programs: Applicants must have an HSK-5 certificate or above. English-taught programs: Applicants from non-English speaking countries must provide IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 85, or an equivalent language proficiency certificate. Health and Character: Applicants must be in good physical and mental health, maintain a friendly attitude towards China, and have no criminal record.

Create an Account: Register on the FAFU online application system: http://admission.fafu.edu.cn/Account/Login/. Submit Documents: Fill in the required information and upload all necessary documents. Application Deadline: Ensure your application is submitted by April 30, 2025 (12:00 a.m. Beijing time). Required Application Documents Scanned copy of the passport information page. Highest education certificate (notarized photocopy). Academic transcripts (notarized translation if not in Chinese or English). Personal statement (800+ words) and research plan (for PhD applicants). Language proficiency certificate (HSK, IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent). Curriculum vitae (CV). Recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors. Funds guarantee certificate (for self-funded students). Physical examination results (issued after January 2025). Certificate of no criminal record. Statement of views about China. ID photo with a white background. Admission Process Preliminary Qualification Examination: FAFU reviews application materials to shortlist eligible candidates. Academic Assessment: Shortlisted candidates undergo an assessment via face-to-face communication, online video, or telephone.
