The programme is open for Doctoral (PhD) studies at the University of Cologne and affiliated research institutes.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent: MD, Diploma, etc.) in life sciences, natural sciences, medical sciences, or a related field.
Have relevant research experience (e.g., thesis work, internships, or lab projects).
Provide evidence of excellent English proficiency (C1 level). An English test certificate (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.) is optional, but a statement of fluency is required.
Medical graduates are also eligible if they have sufficient research experience.

Recruitment Week in Cologne: February 23–27, 2026 (Top 25 invited)
Final Offers: Up to 12 candidates will receive PhD positions starting between July–October 2026
