Eligibility
To be eligible for a Banting Fellowship , applicants must work closely with their proposed host institution throughout the entire application process. This ensures a strong fit between the Fellow's research goals and the institution's research priorities. Citizenship and Residency: International Applicants: Must hold the fellowship at a Canadian institution. Canadian Citizens/Permanent Residents: PhD from Abroad: Must hold the fellowship at a Canadian institution. PhD in Canada: Can hold the fellowship at a Canadian or international institution. Degree Completion: PhD, PhD-equivalent, or health professional degree required. Completion window: September 15, 2021 - September 30, 2025 (inclusive). Degree completion proof required by October 15, 2025 (if not already completed). Applies to the most recent degree for applicants with multiple qualifications.
