The application process is structured in three main steps:

Step 1: Apply Online
The online application opens October 11 and remains available until the first Friday of January at 5:00 PM PST. Applicants must create an account with a valid email address and may complete the application over multiple sessions.
Step 2: Semi-Finalist Selection
A volunteer review team evaluates applications based on leadership, advocacy, academic goals, and commitment to the LGBTQ+ community. Semi-finalists are notified in mid-March and invited to an online Zoom interview on Saturday, April 5th.
Step 3: Scholars Selected
Following interviews, volunteers select final award recipients. The GSBA Scholars are publicly honored at the annual Scholars Celebration, where they are introduced to the broader community.
