Hearing Health Foundation USA Emerging Research Grants 2025 is available to undertake Masters, PhD level programs at USA Universities.
Eligibility
Applicants must: Hold an Au.D., M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degree. Be appointed at a nonprofit educational, governmental, or research institution in the United States. Eligible positions include faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and clinical/research fellows. Medical residents in otolaryngology may also apply. Note: Ph.D. students and medical residents outside otolaryngology are not eligible. HHF especially encourages Early Stage Investigators (ESIs)—those within 10 years of their most recent terminal degree or medical residency—to apply. Senior investigators are also welcome to apply for specific topic-based grants.

Grant Opportunities for 2025–2026 For Early Stage Investigators The Elizabeth M. Keithley, Ph.D. Early Stage Investigator Awards support research across various topics, including: Age-related hearing loss Tinnitus Vestibular disorders Hearing aids and implants Hyperacusis Ménière’s disease Genetics and otopathology Pediatric hearing disorders Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) This grant opportunity is exclusive to Early Stage Investigators, fostering innovation in underfunded and high-impact areas. For Senior and Early Stage Investigators Several topic-specific grants are open to all eligible applicants, including: Pain Hyperacusis: Researching the biological causes or treatments for sound-induced pain. Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD): Addressing the challenges in diagnosing and managing auditory processing issues. Tinnitus and Ménière’s Disease: Exploring innovative therapies and understanding underlying mechanisms. Each proposal must align with the specific grant guidelines detailed in the ERG Application Instructions.
Benefits
Up to $50,000 per project per year.
Grants are renewable for one additional year based on progress and merit.

Key Deadlines Letter of Intent (LOI) Due: Thursday, February 27, 2025 Full Application Deadline: Monday, March 3, 2025, at 11:59 PM ET Funding Decision Notification: August 2025 Grant Year Period: October 1, 2025 – September 30, 2026 How to Apply for Emerging Research Grants (ERG) 2025–2026 Complete the LOI (Eligibility Quiz): Submit your Letter of Intent (LOI) by February 27, 2025. This step confirms your eligibility and allows you to proceed with the full application. Submit Full Application: Ensure your full application is approved by an authorized signatory at your institution before the March 3, 2025 deadline. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
