Eligibility

Applicants must:

Be Indian nationals currently residing in India
Hold a PhD and be in full-time employment at a university or research institution in India
Be in the early or mid stages of their academic career
Have no prior experience of research outside India (preferred)
Not have received CWIT support in the last 5 years
Not hold any other fellowships concurrently
Disclose any pending fellowship applications

Benefits

The selected CWIT Fellow will receive:

£700 towards return airfare to the UK
£1,600 per month to cover living expenses (for 3 months)
A workspace at the Global Cultures Institute or Faculty of Arts and Humanities
Full access to King’s College library, internet, and office resources
Research networking opportunities with King’s faculty member
Note: Visa fees and accommodation are not included. However, accommodation guidance will be provided by the university.

Responsibilities Of The Fellow

Engage in research development during the fellowship
Participate in academic life at King’s, including seminars and workshops
Present a research seminar at the Faculty or Global Cultures Institute
Initiate or develop collaborative projects with King’s faculty

This scholarship is open to Indian citizens only.

Application Procedure

Applicants must submit the following documents via email to CWIT@kcl.ac.uk by 7 May 2025:

Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Research Proposal (up to 3000 words)
Statement of Intent: Outline your work plan and explain why King’s is an ideal academic fit
One writing sample (published or unpublished)
Two letters of recommendation (to be sent by referees directly to CWIT@kcl.ac.uk)
Note: Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Selection Process Results

Interviews: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an online interview (via Zoom/Skype) in June 2025
Final Notification: Results will be shared via email
