MESPOM Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Scholarships 2025-2027 is available to undertake Masters level programs at University of Manchester, Lund University, Central European University, University of the Aegean.

Eligibility

General Requirements Applicants to MESPOM must have earned a first degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent; not less than 3 years of full-time studies) from a recognized university or institution of higher education. Applicants who have not yet earned their degree must provide documentation indicating they will do so by the time of enrolling in MESPOM. The first degree should be in environmental studies or a closely related field. Candidates with degrees in other fields, such as: Agricultural studies Social sciences Legal and administrative studies Economics Engineering Natural sciences These candidates will be considered if they can demonstrate a commitment to environmental challenges through voluntary or professional work and on-the-job training. Successful applicants typically have a GPA of at least 3.5 from a recognized university or institution of higher education. Language Requirements Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English. Those whose first language is not English must submit standardized English language test scores. Accepted tests include: TOEFL (Internet-based): Minimum score of 88, but 90 required for Manchester, with no sub-test below 20. TOEFL (Paper-based): Minimum score of 570. IELTS Academic: Minimum score of 6.5, with no sub-test below 6.0 for Manchester. Pearson Test of English Academic: Minimum score of 59, with 70 overall and no less than 65 in each component for Manchester. Cambridge English: C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with a minimum score of 180. Euroexam Academic: Pass, but not accepted for the Manchester track. Duolingo English Test: Minimum score of 125, but not accepted for the Manchester track. Tests must not be older than two years at the time of application, with specific requirements for the Manchester track. English Language Exemptions Applicants whose first language is English are typically exempt from the proficiency requirement. Exemptions may also apply if the applicant has earned a Bachelor's or Master's degree taught exclusively in English. A written request for exemption must be included in the application package, and the decision is at the discretion of the MESPOM admissions committee. Exceptions and Special Cases Applicants who do not meet the minimum English proficiency requirements may be offered admission in exceptional cases, subject to approval by the departmental admissions committee and the Provost/Pro-Rector. The MESPOM consortium may request additional evidence of English language proficiency. The University of Manchester may have additional language requirements, and UK immigration only accepts specific tests, including: IELTS Academic Pearson Academic Cambridge English C1/C2 TOEFL iBT (not the Home Edition) Test results must be submitted to Manchester by July 31st preceding the UK period. Benefits

Outstanding candidates from all over the world are offered Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) Scholarships. The scholarship is awarded to the highest-ranked applicants for 24 months for full-time enrolment (120 ECTS credits) as is the master programme duration. The scholarship covers travel, visa, installation and subsistence costs and is calculated on the basis of a monthly unit cost of 1400 Euros/month which corresponds to a maximum scholarship amount of 33 600 Euros (24 months). Additional financial support is available for students with individual needs depending on the level of disability/support needed. An EMJM scholarship holder cannot benefit from another EU funded scholarship scheme to follow the same (or another) EMJM master course (for the entire period of enrolment in the course).

Application Procedure

Online Application The application for MESPOM 2024-2026 is open. Central European University (CEU) manages the admissions for MESPOM. Complete the CEU online application form and review instructions carefully. No application fee if only applying to MESPOM. Applicants can choose between Lund and Manchester tracks and must indicate their preferred track in the statement of purpose. Required Documents Letters of Recommendation: Two letters from faculty or supervisors familiar with your academic/professional abilities. Academic Records: Scanned bachelor’s transcript and diploma in English. Essay: A 350-word statement on your interest in environmental issues, goals, and career plans. CV/Resume: Include academic and professional background. Proof of English Proficiency: Official test scores or other proof as per eligibility criteria.
