Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following requirements: Nationality: Must be a citizen of a country other than China. Health: Must be in good mental and physical health. Academic Requirements: Master’s applicants: Bachelor’s degree holder under 35 years old. Doctoral applicants: Master’s degree holder under 40 years old. Academic Performance: CGPA of 3.0 or above out of 4. Language Proficiency: TOEFL 80+ or IELTS 6.0+ (for non-native English speakers).

Master’s Programs (2 years): Meteorology, Applied Meteorology. Doctoral Programs (4+ years): Meteorology, Climate System and Climate Change, Applied Meteorology, Atmospheric Physics and Atmospheric Environment, Atmospheric Remote Sensing and Atmospheric Sounding, Lightning Science and Technology, Space Weather, 3S Integration and Meteorological Application, Surface Sphere and Process, Remote Sensing Information Science and Technology, Hydrometeorology, Marine Meteorology. Instruction Language The courses are taught entirely in English.

Application Procedure

To apply, follow these steps: Complete the Online Application for the Chinese Government Scholarship Visit www.campuschina.org and select “Scholarship Application for Students”. Choose Program Category A and enter Agency Number 00002. Obtain Nomination from WMO Get a nomination letter from the Permanent Representative of your country with WMO. Apply to NUIST for a Pre-Admission Letter Submit an online application at http://nuist.17gz.org/member/login.do. Choose Chinese Government Scholarship. Submit required documents including the WMO Fellowship Nomination Form (FNF). Submit Final Documents to WMO Secretariat Send the WMO FNF, CSC application form, and NUIST pre-admission letter to WMO before the deadline. Required Documents Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form. Copy of Passport Home Page (valid until at least April 2026). Notarized Highest Diploma and Academic Transcripts. English Language Proficiency Certificate (TOEFL/IELTS, if applicable). Research Proposal (at least 1,000 words). Two Recommendation Letters from professors or associate professors. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (valid for six months). Non-Criminal Record Certificate. WMO Fellowship Nomination Form (FNF). NUIST Pre-Admission Notice. Any additional supporting materials (published papers, awards, supervisor acceptance letter, etc.). Selection and Scholarship Confirmation CSC evaluates applicants recommended by WMO. Qualified applicants are reviewed by NUIST. Successful candidates receive an admission letter and visa documents. Scholarship recipients must register at NUIST before the deadline. Annual review required for scholarship renewal.
