Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) Japan Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship 2025 is available to undertake Masters, PhD level programs at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University.
Eligibility
Non-Japanese Nationality: Applicants must not hold Japanese citizenship, including dual nationality. Student Visa: Must secure a student visa for Japan to pursue their graduate studies. Residency: Must reside outside Japan at the time of application and until the start of the program. Limited Previous Residency in Japan: Applicants must not have stayed in Japan for more than 31 days in total. Exceptions apply if the applicant had family reasons or was part of the Rotary Youth Exchange high school program. Japanese Language Proficiency: Applicants must have at least JLPT N4 or above proficiency in the Japanese language. Age Requirement: Applicants must be born after April 2, 1980. First-Time Applicant: Candidates should not have been previous Rotary Yoneyama Scholars.

The Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship offers a generous monthly stipend to support international students throughout their time in Japan: Master’s students: 140,000 JPY per month for two years Doctoral students: 140,000 JPY per month for two years In addition to the monthly stipend, recipients are reimbursed up to 250,000 JPY for economy air travel and other travel-related expenses after arriving in Japan. This helps to alleviate the financial burden on international students as they transition to their new academic life in Japan. Application Procedure
Request to be considered as a Rotary Yoneyama scholarship candidate in the APU Online Application System and submit the application to APU by September 16, 2024 .
Apply directly to the scholarship organization around October 2024. Notify the scholarship organization that the Letter of Recommendation from the desired university will be issued after the application deadline.
APU provides a Letter of Recommendation for the selected scholarship candidates after the admissions results notification. The results from APU will be announced on November 13, 2024.
Submit the Letter of Recommendation to the scholarship organization.
