Saitama University Japan MEXT Scholarship 2025 (Fully Funded) is available to undertake PhD level programs at Saitama University.
Eligibility
Hold or expect to hold a Master’s Degree before enrollment. Age Limit: Born on or after April 2, 1990. Proof of English proficiency: TOEFL (IBT) 72, IELTS 5.5, or CEFR B2 Level. Reside outside Japan without Japanese nationality. Selection Process Applications are evaluated based on academic credentials, recommendation letters, and research potential. Shortlisted candidates undergo internet-based interviews or exams. A mathematics exam may be required depending on the supervisor's demand.

This scholarship is open to international students of all nationalities except Japanese.

Application Procedure
Key Deadlines MEXT Scholarship: December 10, 2024 Regular Admission (April): November 1, 2024 Regular Admission (October): April 15, 2025 Application Requirements Submit documents to the Foreign Student Office via email (rese@gr.saitama-u.ac.jp) and international postal services. Required materials include: Application Form (Form A) Research Plan (Form B) Certificates: Grades from the latest academic institution Graduation/Expected Graduation Thesis abstract (1 A4 page max) Passport copy or equivalent ID proof English proficiency certificate Two Recommendation Letters, one from the Dean and another from a supervisor. MEXT Scholarship University Recommendation Enrollment: October 2025 Slots Available: 8 doctoral students Application Deadline: December 10, 2024 Privately Funded Students Enrollment options: April/October 2025 Financial Assistance: Must secure external scholarships independently.
