Sato Yo International Foundation Japan Scholarship 2025 (Fully Funded) is available to undertake Masters, PhD level programs at Japan Universities.
Eligibility
Nationality :
Must be a privately financed international student (i.e., not on a Japanese government or other external scholarship).
University Enrollment :
Must be enrolled at a Japanese university , such as the Tokyo University of Science .
Open to both:
Current students (2nd year or above).
New or transfer students enrolling in October 2025 or April 2026 .
Academic Level :
Undergraduate or higher (master’s and doctoral students may be eligible, depending on foundation’s yearly criteria).
Academic Excellence :
Must demonstrate strong academic performance and maintain good standing throughout the scholarship period.
Financial Need :
Preference is often given to students who show financial need or limited means of self-support.
Application Process :
Must follow the internal application process through your university’s Student Support Division .
Required to get a control number before applying through the foundation.
Supervisor’s Support :
Must have the consent and recommendation of your academic supervisor.
Language and Communication :
Must be able to read and follow instructions in Japanese or English (depending on the university's support materials).
Some scholarships require at least conversational Japanese, though it's not always mandatory.

Get approval from your academic supervisor to prepare a recommendation letter.
Step 2: Request a Control Number
Send an email to the Student Support Division (Financial Support Group) with the subject and body formatted as follows:

You will receive your control number by 5:00 p.m. the following business day (excluding weekends and holidays).
Step 3: Fill Out the Online Application
Use the control number to complete the application form on the official Sato Yo International Scholarship Foundation website .
Step 4: Submit Application Documents (PDF)
Send all application documents via email to the Financial Support Group.
