Eligibility

Nationality: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding a valid foreign passport and must be in good physical and mental health. They should also abide by the laws of China and the rules of Shenzhen University. Educational Requirements: Applicants should have a Master’s degree or higher. Those who have not yet graduated should provide an expected graduation certificate during application. Official diplomas must be presented before enrollment. Applicants must be under 40 years of age. Language Proficiency: Applicants must meet specific language requirements: Programs Taught in Chinese: HSK 5 with a score above 180. Programs Taught in English: Valid English proficiency certification. Native speakers of Chinese or English may be exempted from providing proficiency certificates after being verified by the university.

Fees Application Fee: 400 RMB / 60 USD, non-refundable. Tuition Fee: Liberal Arts: 34,000 RMB/year. Science & Engineering: 40,000 RMB/year. Medicine/Arts/Physical Education: 52,000 RMB/year. Accommodation: Yuehai Campus: Single and double rooms are available, with fees ranging from 2,400 to 8,000 RMB per semester. Lihu Campus: Double rooms at 750 RMB per semester. Insurance: 800 RMB per year, purchased from the College of International Exchange. Scholarships 1. Provincial Scholarship: Guangdong Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship of 30,000 RMB/year. 2. Municipal Scholarship: Shenzhen Universiade Scholarship of 40,000 RMB/year. 3. Liyuan International Scholarship: First Class: Tuition waiver + living allowance of 6,000 RMB/month. Second Class: Tuition waiver + living allowance of 5,000 RMB/month. Third Class: Tuition waiver + living allowance of 4,000 RMB/month. Supervisors also provide an annual allowance of 12,000 RMB for international doctoral candidates to support research activities or academic exchanges.

Application Procedure

Application Time: October 10 to November 30, 2024. Procedure: Contact Supervisor: Contact a potential supervisor listed on the official website and obtain a letter of recommendation from them. Online Registration: Register online at the SZU International Exchange website here. Submit Application: Fill out personal and visa details, upload required documents, and submit the application fee online. Required Application Materials Applicants must prepare and submit the following documents: Master's Diploma and Certificate: Applicants yet to graduate must provide a pre-graduation certificate, which will be verified upon registration. Transcripts: Complete transcripts from the Master's program. Two Letters of Recommendation: These must be from professors or associate professors in either Chinese or English. Personal Statement: A 1500-word self-statement detailing the intended major and supervisor, study and work experience, and academic achievements. Passport Copy: Copy of passport info page and a passport-sized photo. Language Proficiency Certificate: HSK or English proficiency certificate, as applicable. Resume: A detailed resume from primary school to present. Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Non-criminal Record Report: Original and Chinese translated versions. Scholarship Application: If applying for the Guangdong Government Scholarship, complete the relevant form. Admission Procedure Review Process: Applications will be reviewed by an expert panel, and interviews (either remote or in-person) may be arranged. Pre-admission Results: Applicants will receive pre-admission results via email in December 2024. Admission Confirmation: In January 2025, official admission materials will be sent to successful applicants. Visa Application: Applicants must apply for an X1 visa and convert it to a Residence Permit within 30 days of arriving in China. Registration: Admitted students must register on-site based on the date and location mentioned in the admission notice. Conclusion:
