Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), Tanzania PhD Scholarships 2025 (Fully Funded) is available to undertake PhD level programs at Sokoine University of Agriculture.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following requirements: Admission Status: Must have applied for or secured admission into a PhD program at SUA Academic Qualifications: MSc in Biology, Crop Protection, Entomology, Crop Science, or a related field Minimum GPA of 3.8/5.0 in BSc and 4.0/5.0 in MSc from an accredited university Nationality & Age: Must be a Tanzanian citizen, not older than 35 years as of March 1, 2025 Research Background: Knowledge of integrated pest management is required; experience with tephritid fruit flies is an advantage Fieldwork Readiness: Willingness to participate in field surveys in Tanzania Data Analysis Skills: Strong knowledge of R programming for data analysis Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is an added advantage Communication Skills: Proficiency in English (oral and written) Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Morogoro, Tanzania Female applicants are strongly encouraged to apply

Available PhD Positions Predictive Modeling of Fruit Infestation by Ceratitis rosa and C. quilicii (Diptera: Tephritidae) in Southeast Africa Predictive Modeling of Fruit Infestation by Ceratitis cosyra (Diptera: Tephritidae) in Southeast Africa Applicants may apply for one or both positions.
