Eligibility

To qualify for the Spingarn Alumni Association Scholarship Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Must be a graduating high school senior
Must reside in the Washington Metropolitan Area
Public high school students should be recommended by members who will support the application
Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5
Must plan to attend college, vocational training, or another post-secondary institution

Applicants must also submit the following documents:

A typed essay of 200–250 words explaining why they are the most qualified candidate
Official academic transcript
Recommendation letter from at least one faculty member
Three references, including one from a counselor
Acceptance letter from the institution they plan to attend
