Swansea University International Postgraduate Research Excellence Scholarship 2025 in UK is available to undertake PhD level programs at Swansea University.
Eligibility
Program: You must be applying for a PhD or Professional Doctorate program offered by Swansea University. A complete list of eligible programs can be found on their website. Academic Qualifications: You need to have a strong academic background. This means achieving (or expecting to achieve) a 1st class or 2:1 honours degree from a UK university (or an equivalent qualification from an international institution). A Distinction in a UK Master's degree (or international equivalent) is also considered. Student Status: This scholarship is only available to international students who are required to pay the international tuition fees at Swansea University. Course Excellence: Meeting the minimum requirements isn't enough. You'll need to demonstrate exceptional qualities beyond your academic record in your application for the chosen program. Previous Enrollment: Current PhD/Professional Doctorate students (including those returning or transferring) are not eligible. Master's Programs: This scholarship is not offered for Master's level courses. Sponsorship: If you are fully funded by another organization, you are not eligible for the SUIPRES scholarship.

Covers Tuition Gap: The SUIPRES scholarship bridges the financial gap between the international and domestic tuition fees for your entire PhD or Professional Doctorate program at Swansea University.
Reduced Fees: If awarded the scholarship, you'll only pay the lower UK tuition rate, currently set at £4,786 for the 2024/25 academic year. This fee increases annually, typically by 3%, as per UKRI regulations.
Scholarship Application: The scholarship amount is automatically applied towards your tuition fees, reducing your overall cost.
Additional Funding Needed: It's important to confirm you have sufficient funds to cover any remaining tuition fees beyond the scholarship amount, as well as your living expenses throughout your studies.

Application Procedure
Choose Your Program: Select a PhD or Professional Doctorate program offered by Swansea University. Find a complete list of eligible programs on their website. Indicate Scholarship Interest: During your program application, clearly state that you'd like to be considered for the SUIPRES scholarship. Highlight Your Achievements: In your supporting statement, showcase your academic background (transcripts, publications, etc.) and relevant achievements beyond academics.
