Eligibility

To qualify for the SCAS General Fellowship, applicants must: Hold a PhD (or equivalent doctoral degree) for at least three years at the time of application. Demonstrate a strong track record of independent research beyond the postdoctoral level. Be active in international academic and research communities. Senior scholars (PhD for at least 10 years) must show a consistent record of original research contributions. Candidates are not required to hold a university position at the time of application.

Application Procedure

Required Documents Applicants must submit the following through the Varbi application system: Curriculum Vitae (Max 4 pages) Research Project Proposal (Max 1500 words, excluding bibliography) List of Major Publications (Up to 10 international peer-reviewed articles, books, or edited volumes) One Article or Chapter (can be unrelated to the research proposal but must be in English) Motivation Statements: Why SCAS? (100 words) How will you benefit? (100 words) How will you contribute? (100 words) Copy of PhD Diploma (Optional) Up to 3 Letters of Reference (must be uploaded by the applicant before the deadline) Selection Process Applications are reviewed by a selection committee consisting of Long-term Fellows at SCAS. External referees may also assess applications. Final decisions are made by the Principal of SCAS. Security vetting may be required for selected candidates.
