Eligibility
To apply, candidates must meet the following conditions: Citizenship: Be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport. Educational Background: Master’s Applicants: Hold a bachelor’s degree. Doctoral Applicants: Hold a master’s degree. Graduating students (2025) must provide proof of degree completion by August 25, 2025. Age Limit: Master’s applicants: Under 35 years. Doctoral applicants: Under 40 years. Language Proficiency: Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 4 or above (HSK Level 5 required for direct admission). English-taught programs: IELTS (6.0) or TOEFL (80+) for non-native speakers.

Application Procedure
The application period runs from November 20, 2024 , to February 20, 2025 . Early applications are highly encouraged.
Step 1: Apply on the CSC Online Application System
Register at CSC System .
Select “Type B” in Program Category and enter SWUFE’s agency number 10651.
Step 2: Submit Application to SWUFE
Register and submit your application at SWUFE International Students Service System .
Pay the 600 RMB non-refundable application fee online.
Step 3: Upload Required Documents
Prepare the following documents:
Recent ID photo (taken within the last 6 months).
Highest degree certificate (notarized).
Academic transcripts.
Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors.
Study plan (minimum 1,000 words).
Language proficiency certificate (HSK/IELTS/TOEFL).
Valid passport (not expiring before March 2026).
Foreigner Physical Examination Record.
Non-Criminal Record certificate.
Proof of school performance (for current graduates in China).
Additional certificates or awards (optional).
Preliminary Review: SWUFE reviews application materials and conducts interviews.
Nomination to CSC: Qualified applicants are recommended to the Chinese Scholarship Council.
Final Selection: CSC reviews and confirms scholarship recipients.
