Eligibility

To qualify for the Regents’ Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria: Be admitted as a freshman to Texas A&M University College Station, including the McAllen Higher Education Center, Engineering Academy at Blinn Bryan, or Engineering Academy at Galveston. Be a first-generation college student (neither parent holds a bachelor’s degree). Have a family income of less than $40,000 annually, verified through the FAFSA or TASFA. Reside on campus for the entire first year (College Station and Galveston campuses), unless a special housing appeal is approved.

Up to $6,000 per year for four years.
Support through the Routh First-Generation Center in the Office for Student Success.

To retain the scholarship, students must:

Enroll full-time each semester.
Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
Meet the 30/60/90 Hour Rule, requiring 30 hours by the end of the first year, 60 by the second, and 90 by the third.
Continue to demonstrate financial need through FAFSA or TASFA.

Application Procedure

There is no separate application process for the Regents’ Scholars Program. However, you must:

Complete the FAFSA or TASFA by the February 15 2025 priority deadline.
Ensure your financial aid file is complete by May 1 2025.
Submit your admissions application through the Common App by December 1 2024 for fall admission.
Q: Can non-resident students apply?
A: No, non-resident students are not eligible for this program.
Q: What happens if I don’t meet the 30/60/90 hour rule?
A: Failure to meet this requirement may result in loss of the scholarship. However, you can consult with the Office for Student Success for guidance.
