Eligibility

Applicants must:

Be enrolled as a regular (degree-seeking) student at Tokushima University (research students are not eligible)
Be a citizen of one of the listed Asian countries or regions
Hold a valid “Student” visa status in Japan

Meet the age limit by March 31, 2026 :

Undergraduates : 25 or under
Master’s students : 30 or under
Doctoral students : 35 or under
Demonstrate financial need
Not receive any other scholarships during the 2026 fiscal year
Participate in scholarship events and submit required reports

Degree Level

Tokushima University Japan Fujii Scholarship 2026 is available to undertake Masters, PhD, Bachelor level programs at Tokushima University.

Following subjects are available to study under this scholarship program.

Benefits

Monthly stipend : ¥50,000 JPY

Duration :

Up to 3 years for undergraduates and doctoral students
Up to 2 years for master’s students
Annual review required to continue receiving the scholarship
No repayment required if eligibility is maintained
Up to 20 new scholars across all eligible universities , including continuing scholars

Eligible Nationalities

Applicants must be nationals of the following Asian countries or regions :

India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, South Korea, China, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Timor-Leste, Bhutan, Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Maldives, Mongolia, Laos, Taiwan, Hong Kong

Required Documents

Applicants must handwrite all documents in Japanese using black ink or pen. Required documents include:

Application Form (designated format)
Handwritten essay (within 800 characters) on a specified topic
Recommendation letter from your academic advisor
Consent form for recommendation
Consent form for handling personal information
Academic transcript
Certificate of enrollment
Residence card copy (front and back)
(Optional but encouraged) JLPT N1 certificate copy
(Optional) Summary of undergraduate or master’s thesis

Selection Process

Document Screening : Mid-November 2025
Interview (only for shortlisted candidates) : Late November 2025
Results Announcement : Early December 2025 via Tokushima University’s administration

Application Deadline

Josanjima Campus (Tokushima University) :

Friday, August 29, 2025 – Submit to the International Affairs Division

Important Notes

Only one student from Tokushima University can be recommended for the 2026 cycle
Application forms must be handwritten and submitted through the university
Students already receiving or confirmed to receive another scholarship in 2026 are not eligible
