University of Duisburg-Essen

Ruhr University Bochum

TU Dortmund University

This dynamic partnership enhances the quality of research, supports academic innovation, and strengthens Europe’s global academic presence.

Eligibility

This program is open to senior-level researchers (preferably at R4 level) who meet the following criteria:

Active affiliation with a foreign university or research institution (at application and during fellowship)
A PhD awarded at least 6 years prior to application
An outstanding international publication record in the social sciences or humanities
A clear plan to collaborate with a UA Ruhr academic (“tandem partner”)
Important: Applicants must secure a UA Ruhr tandem partner before applying. This ensures meaningful scholarly collaboration during the fellowship period.
