Eligibility

To be eligible for the Swansea University International Postgraduate Research Excellence Scholarship 2025/26, applicants must:

Apply for an eligible PhD or Professional Doctorate at Swansea University.

Hold (or expect to hold) a First Class or Upper Second Class (2:1) UK undergraduate degree or an equivalent international qualification. A Distinction in a UK master’s degree (or equivalent) is also acceptable.

Be classified as an international student and pay the international tuition rate.

Demonstrate academic excellence and achievements beyond qualifications, such as research prizes, outreach work, publications, or teaching experience.

Not eligible if:

You are a current PhD/Professional Doctorate student at Swansea University.

You are applying for a master’s-level course.

You are fully sponsored by a third party.
