The scholarship is available for undergraduate degree programs starting in the academic year 2026.
Eligibility
To apply for the St Andrews International Excellence Scholarship 2026, applicants must:
Hold an Overseas fee status.
Apply for an undergraduate degree (excluding Medicine and BA International Honours with William & Mary).
Be a prospective student entering the first year (including direct entry into year two).
Demonstrate academic excellence and achievements.
Provide one academic reference and one personal reference.
Submit a statement of motivation (maximum 2000 characters) showcasing academic achievements, ambitions, and contribution to the St Andrews community.
Be willing to participate in the Student Ambassador Scheme during their studies.

Eligible Schools and Departments include:
Art History, Biology, Chemistry, Classics, Computer Science, Divinity, Earth and Environmental Sciences, English, Film Studies, Geography and Sustainable Development, History, International Relations, Mathematics and Statistics, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Physics and Astronomy, Psychology and Neuroscience, Social Anthropology, and the University of St Andrews Business School.
Benefits
Value of award: To be confirmed by December 2025.
Duration: Paid annually for the duration of the undergraduate program.
Additional opportunities: Recipients will represent the University as Student Ambassadors, gaining valuable leadership and outreach experience.

Application Procedure
Apply for admission to an undergraduate course at the University of St Andrews (2026 entry).
Wait two working days after submitting your course application to access the scholarship application form in the My application portal.
Complete the International Undergraduate Scholarships application form.
Upload your academic and personal references (or request referees to send them directly to ugscholarships@st-andrews.ac.uk).
Write and submit a statement of motivation.
Submit your application before the deadline: 28 January 2026.
