Eligibility
This scholarship is open to students enrolling full-time in their first year of a Master's program at the University of Otago. There are two eligible options: Coursework Master's (non-thesis): Students pursuing a Master's program designed entirely through coursework, with no thesis requirement. Master's with Research Option: Students choosing the research report or dissertation option within a Master's program that also offers a thesis pathway. Must Apply for Fully Funded DAAD Scholarships in Germany Previous Master's Degrees: Students who have already completed a coursework Master's degree at the University of Otago are generally not eligible for this scholarship. Highlights: Full-time enrollment is required. Only first-year Master's students are eligible. The scholarship applies to specific program structures: non-thesis coursework Masters or Masters with a chosen research report/dissertation option (within a program offering a thesis).

Application Procedure
There are two scenarios for applying, depending on whether you've already been admitted to your program: For Students Not Yet Admitted: Submit the c ompleted scholarship application form along with your application for admission to the Master's program. For Students Choosing Research Option Later: If you decide to pursue the research report or dissertation option after starting your coursework, you can apply directly to the University of Otago Doctoral and Scholarships Office. There are two important deadlines to consider: You must apply after receiving your results from the initial Master's papers. You must submit your application within one month of starting the research or dissertation component. Selection Process: The University of Otago Scholarships Committee carefully evaluates applications based on the following criteria: Your academic record: This includes your grades and overall academic performance. Departmental recommendation: The Head of Department (or their nominee) will provide their evaluation and ranking of your application.
