Each EPSRC DLA studentship includes:
Full UK tuition fee coverage.
A stipend at the UKRI rate, currently £19,237 for the 2024 academic year.
A Research Training and Support Grant of £4,500 for research-related expenses.
Outstanding international candidates are encouraged to apply, with up to 15 awards reserved for exceptional overseas applicants. The University of Sheffield will cover the difference in overseas tuition fees. However, relocation costs, visa fees, and NHS surcharge are not included.
Up to 30% of studentships may be awarded to international candidates.
Applicants must meet the English language requirements and demonstrate attention to detail in their application.

Application Process: Select up to three PhD projects from the available list on the online application form . Arrange the selected projects in order of preference. Project Codes: Each project has a unique code, provided in the FindAPhD advertisement. For mathematics and statistics projects, refer to the specific guidance on project types and codes. Start Date: Choose a start date of 1 October 2025 for your selected projects. Deadline: Applications close at 5:00 PM UK time on Wednesday, 29 January 2025 . Interviews: Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed during the week commencing 3 March 2025. Application Form Requirements: Complete all sections of the application form to be considered.
