University of Sydney Australian Government RTP Scholarships 2025 is available to undertake level programs at University of Sydney.
Eligibility
Starting or Continuing Your Studies: This scholarship is open to international students who are either just beginning their postgraduate research program (commencing students) or are already enrolled (enrolled students).
Academic Excellence and Research Promise: To be eligible, you'll need to demonstrate a strong academic background and a clear potential for success in research. This is often shown by having a history of excellent grades and, especially, publications related to your research field.
University of Sydney Admission: You must have already received an unconditional acceptance letter (unconditional offer of admission) for a Master's by Research or PhD program at the University of Sydney, or be currently enrolled in one of these programs.

Benefits
Financial Support: The RTP provides an annual stipend of $32,192 (2024 rate) to help cover living expenses for full-time students. Part-time students may also be eligible for a prorated stipend under specific circumstances.
Tuition Fee Coverage: The RTP Scholarship offsets tuition fees for your HDR program, so you won't have to pay them upfront.
Overseas Health Insurance: The RTP International Scholarship specifically covers overseas health insurance for international students.

Application Procedure
You can be considered for the RTP scholarship automatically when you submit your application for the program. Just tick the checkbox that says you'd like to be considered. Make sure to submit your program application by the following deadlines to be eligible for the next scholarship round:
To start in January or March (Research Period 1 or 2): Apply by September of the previous year.
To start in July or October (Research Period 3 or 4): Apply by December of the previous year.
You can still apply for the RTP scholarship, but you'll need to submit a separate application . Note: You'll need to show improvement in your academic record or research achievements since your last application to be reconsidered.
Deadlines are strict. Missing them means you'll be considered for the next scholarship round.
You need to submit all required documents for both your program application and the RTP scholarship application (including research experience evidence, if applicable).
RTP scholarships are very competitive and are awarded based on academic excellence and research potential.
