University of Szeged Hungary National Higher Education Scholarship 2025–2026

Overview

The National Higher Education Scholarship (Hungary) is a government-backed scholarship program regulated by Act CCIV of 2011 and Government Decree 51/2007. It awards HUF 40,000 per month for 10 months to students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and professional excellence.

This highly competitive scholarship is open to full-time students in bachelor’s, master’s, or undivided training programs who have completed at least two semesters and earned a minimum of 55 credits.

What Is The National Higher Education Scholarship

Degree Level

University of Szeged Hungary National Higher Education Scholarship 2025–2026 is available to undertake Masters, Bachelor level programs at University of Szeged.

Scholarship Value And Duration

Monthly Stipend : HUF 40,000

Duration : 10 months (full academic year 2025–2026)

Disbursement Condition : Students must continue their studies in the spring semester if they graduate after the fall semester

Eligible Nationalities

Open to applicants of all nationalities.

Who Can Apply

Students from any faculty enrolled in a state-funded or fee-paying full-time program may apply if they:

Have completed at least 2 semesters

Have earned a minimum of 55 credits

Have maintained outstanding academic performance (90%+ average)

Engage in scientific, artistic, or sports-related activities

Have not received disciplinary action during the academic year

Intend to continue their studies during the 2025–2026 academic year

The program also allows parallel applications for a Premium Educational Scholarship if the National Scholarship application is unsuccessful.

Evaluation Criteria

Scholarship applicants are evaluated by faculty committees based on:

Academic Excellence (minimum 90% GPA within the faculty)

Professional Contributions (research, publications, participation in scientific events)

Public and Extracurricular Engagement (sports, community service, cultural achievements – max 10% of total score)

Students must ensure all grades, including retakes, are finalized in the university’s Student Information System before the deadline.

Appeals And Remedies

If your application is rejected, you can:

Appeal to the Faculty Dean within 3 days

If rejected by the National Commission, submit a second appeal within 15 days to the Rector via the Dean
