The Vingroup Scholarship Program was launched to discover and nurture Vietnamese talents in science and technology. With a mission to empower scholars who will lead scientific innovation in Vietnam, this fully funded PhD scholarship covers all major expenses for doctoral study abroad.

From the 2026 cohort, the scholarship program is open only for doctoral degrees and includes two application tracks: Track 1 and Track 2. Successful candidates must apply for the Vingroup scholarship before applying for university admission.

Nationality: Must be a Vietnamese citizen living in Vietnam or overseas

Age: Under 35 years old by the start date of the PhD program

Education: At least a Bachelor's degree or in final year of undergraduate study in a related field

GPA: Minimum of 8/10 or equivalent in undergraduate studies

English Proficiency:

TOEFL iBT ≥ 79

IELTS ≥ 6.5 (Academic)

OR a degree from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, the UK, or the USA

Work Experience: Not required

1 Can I Apply To Any University For This Scholarship

No. You must choose from the list of targeted universities provided by Vingroup. Only applications to these designated institutions and fields of study will be considered.

2 Is Work Experience Mandatory To Apply For The Phd Scholarship

No. The scholarship does not require applicants to have prior work experience.

3 What Happens If I Havent Graduated Yet But Will Before The Program Starts

You are still eligible. Final-year students can apply, provided they will graduate before starting their doctoral program overseas.
