What is the difference between the Master’s program and the short-term study programs under this scholarship? The Master’s program in International Chinese Language Education is a two-year degree program aimed at preparing professional Chinese language teachers with academic and practical training. In contrast, the One-Year and One-Semester programs focus on language proficiency and cultural immersion , designed for students who wish to enhance their Chinese skills and understanding of Chinese culture without pursuing a full degree.
Do I need to know Chinese before applying for this scholarship? Yes, applicants must have valid HSK and HSKK scores according to their chosen program. For example, Master’s applicants need at least HSK Level 5 with a score ≥ 210 and HSKK Intermediate ≥ 60. Short-term programs have lower requirements (HSK Level 3–4), but some HSKK scores are still mandatory. The scholarship does not cover beginner-level language study for applicants without Chinese proficiency.
